McDevitt

What began as a small patch of beans and tomatoes in a back corner of the school in 2007 has grown into a verdant and productive garden along the whole south wall of the McDevitt Middle School.  Two raised beds are the cornerstones of the garden, where the students have grown tomatoes, carrots, corn, broccoli, garlic, chives, parsley, basil, beans, peas, and a variety and lettuces and salad greens, to name a few crops!  A growing border of perennial flowers adds color throughout the growing seasons.  Around the corner, two flourishing raspberry patches yield sweet berries in spring and fall, and a young grape vine is beginning to climb along the adjacent railing.
